Magento and PHP tricks

So this is really isn’t magento related so much as it’s a web development thing

php short tags are sorta neat.

But a big pain the the MVC if they are not on

there are many tags php supports

<?php

<?

<% (asp style)

the last is not used often

but the second can also be used like <?=$my_var?>

which makes it very hard to clear up if php short tags are not turned on

so here it is

Turning php short tags on or off with .htaccess file

// On:
php_flag short_open_tag on
// Off:
php_flag short_open_tag off

Thats it for the day
cheers
